Role Models for our Kids
West Des Moines Representative talks to youth about giving thanks!
Our kids have a tough road to go. From Michael Jordan, Steve McNair, and now Tiger Woods. Who should be our children’s role models? These athletes, presidents, and even coaches can’t be trusted by their own families. I know everybody makes mistakes but when do we stop buying products they advertise or even stop supporting teams they play for?
Life is about relationships, family, and friends. When they can’t trust you, who can? My suggestion is for parents to sit back, look in the mirror and think, “Would I want my kids acting like this”? Think before you, yourself act. You are a role model for your own kids, whether you like it or not.
If you can’t be trusted, you will never be the person you want to be.
Change can happen any day. Make today be that day.

Coaching and Having Your Kid Being Out for the Year
This is the one of the toughest things I have been through as a parent. Watching your own kid work his rear end off all summer for football and then his year is finished. How do you deal with it? I am trying to help walk him through it and help the team understand it is about being a team. All I can ask from him is to sit back and help the others learn.
Youth Football Games on Sundays
You just walk out of church, rush to the van, and then get ready to go to the game. Is this what our lives are supposed to be like? Good Question I wish I knew the answer. I love coaching, helping the kids improve, and giving them something to work towards. Life is out of control busy.
