5th grade ball in Ogden
The 5th grade basketball team recently competed at Ogden. Coaches Tom and Denise Kennedy took the team of eight. It was stated by the coaches that everyone worked hard. This was the team’s first tournament. They were impressed on how well the team worked together. The 5th grade team will play again in the Jefferson basketball tournament on Saturday, February 13. Come out and support the 5th grade basketball team.

How to coach good sportsmanship?
How would you handle coaching good sportsmanship? It’s hard to coach it if you don’t have parent support. Most kids look up to their coach and will do what the coach says during practice and a game, but once they leave that field, it’s hard to monitor that sportsmanship. One way to continue this is to have all your players make goals. At the beginning of the year, have each player write down 3 goals and have them bring it to practice. Make copies of all those goals and then tell the kids to put their goals where they can read them everyday. Encouraging athletes to reach their goals keeps their mind in a positive direction.
